Prayer

For churches

A quiet place for your church to pray together.

Prayer is a private, invite-only space where your community shares what's on their heart — and the rest of the church says I'm praying for you in a way people can feel. No feeds for outsiders, no advertising. Just your people.

Launch for your church Self-host from GitHub Coming

Free to self-host when it's released. Cloud hosting from Critical Path Tech — pricing on request.

A prayer request from Ben about his kids starting at Juanita Elementary, with a private thread reply from Hannah offering to introduce him to other parents.
A post from Lakeside — Ben asks for prayer; Hannah reaches out in a thread only the two of them can see.

What it does

Small by design. Built for a community that knows each other.

I Will Pray

One commitment per person. The author sees the tally — a quiet signal that the community is with them.

Private threads

Comments are visible only to the author and that one commenter. Pastoral conversations stay pastoral.

Answered prayer

When an author marks an update as answered, the whole request is celebrated in gold. The one place in the app that isn't quiet.

Also: anonymous posts, expiring requests, six-emoji reactions, moderator tools for your leaders, invite-only signup.

Two ways to use it

Run it yourself, or let us run it for you.

Cloud

We run a private instance for your church at yourchurch.prays.online. Your data never mixes with another community's.

  • We handle hosting, updates, backups.
  • Custom subdomain and a leader walkthrough.
  • Email us to start — pricing depends on church size.

Self-host

If your community has someone technical, deploy Prayer on your own servers. Free forever for community use.

  • Node, Postgres, one Docker file away.
  • Source license permits community use, not hosted resale.
  • Release coming once the platform is multi-tenant.

Who it's for

Small to mid-sized churches who already know each other.

If your prayer list lives in a group text, a pastor's inbox, or a Sunday bulletin insert — Prayer is a calmer home for it. Tone is pastoral. Scale is intimate.

Who it's not for

A public feed, a ministry broadcast, or a replacement for pastoral care.

There's no follower graph, no public wall, no discovery. If you need a megaphone, a CMS, or a fundraising tool, this isn't it.
